The Corioli
Difference

We make experience matter.

All Corioli consultants have lived extensively or operated in fragile or violence-affected contexts. They bring to bear direct lived experience among the populations, practitioners, and officials that development interventions serve. From informal housing settlements populated by victims and former fighters in armed conflict to the board rooms of multi-billion dollar private sector donors; international development missions to military special operations; embassy conference rooms to the homes, schools, and everyday lives of former child soldiers – our consultants have been there. We leverage this incomparable collection of experiential expertise alongside rigorous academic training at world-leading institutions. Project teams comprise a diverse blend of policy, practitioner, and academic professionals that mirror the increasingly multi-stakeholder nature of development interventions. To improve conditions of human development and security worldwide, we adopt a systems approach to program, policy, and research design and evaluation. We engage with the beneficiaries, communities, and professionals on the ground as much as we do with program and mission directors, donors, and public officials. Unparalleled experience, intellectual rigor, and an integrated systems approach: that is the Corioli difference

Services

Corioli Consulting engages in partnerships that fall into the following domains:

01

PROGRAM & POLICY DESIGN

Drawing from our consultants’ research and practitioner experiences across all sectors and stages of organizational life cycles, Corioli Consulting is ideally positioned to design from scratch, improve, or reconceptualize development interventions and policies in fragile or violence-affected contexts.

02

MULTI-STAKEHOLDER LEADERSHIP

Our expertise in leadership, team-building and collaboration, and complex social change supports detailed attention to the often overlooked design dimension of multi-stakeholder engagement. Successful inter-institutional cross-sector engagement does not just happen - it happens by design.

03

MEASUREMENT & EVALUATION

Our innovative approach to Measurement & Evaluation starts with the truism that people behave differently depending on how they are evaluated. By framing M&E as a strategic driver rather than a post hoc review, we equip development professionals with additional planning tools in service of program goals.

04

MIXED METHODS RESEARCH

The research capabilities of Corioli Consultants are second to none. We feature both diverse and agile scholar-practitioners who move seamlessly between disciplines and fields, and who all have academic training at world-leading institutions. They are uniquely poised to respond to the demands of investigating some of the most intractable problems in this domain.

Testimonials

I have worked with Corioli Consulting on a number of projects related to military and veteran transitions, experiences, and integration. Their project teams always take an ethical approach in data collection and analysis, and display an enormous measure of empathy when dealing with these heroes who may have experienced episodes of trauma. Many of the population are diagnosed with mental and cognitive impairments that can be triggered by reliving these experiences: Corioli Consulting establishes a safe environment for the participants while ensuring that the project is full of rich data. In addition to their research capabilities, they train and prepare our in-house Research Assistants so that they are capable of conducting all aspects of a research project. From compliance with human subjects training, to data collection and analysis, I lean on Corioli Consulting’s abilities to ensure that our team is mission ready. I would recommend them for any team, project, or leadership role.

Corioli consultants worked with me on the Global Summit on Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration, a south-south technical cooperation project carried out in Santa Marta (Colombia). We convened and engaged in dialogue with the directors of ex-combatant reintegration programs in countries such as the Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Korea, Mozambique, Uganda, Rwanda, Guatemala, and Burundi, as well as with international organizations such as the World Bank and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Corioli Consulting demonstrated rigorous data collection and analysis. As a result of this event, the work team was able to identify the good practices, lessons learned, and relevant collaborative opportunities for reintegration and its interrelationships with development and security that emerged from these high-level conversations. Being familiar with their methodological and analytic rigor, I would recommend Corioli Consulting’s outstanding analysts and advisors.
